Application Specialist – Data Engineer/Developer

Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation is a 501c3 Public Charity of International scope that is a cultural, educational, and humanitarian project of 75 years dedicated to protecting and preserving the culture, traditions, and living heritage of the Indigenous people of North America. The Foundation demonstrates its commitment to this endeavor by continuing progress on the world’s largest sculptural undertaking by carving a Memorial of Lakota leader, Crazy Horse.

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Application Specialist Data Engineer/Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data-driven applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions into our environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and applications to support carving needs.
• Collaborate with the Management and IT team to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Optimize and troubleshoot existing data processes to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Implement data governance best practices to maintain data quality and integrity.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our data infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or similar role.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Apache Flink.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

This is a Full-time year-round, exempt, salaried position with competitive compensation.
