The Growth SR Manager owns mobile app and other off-platform end-to-end funnel strategies for 200+ local Gannett properties, USA TODAY, USA TODAY Sports, and USA TODAY. From user acquisition to paid conversion and retention, this high-profile role works across multiple teams and stakeholders–including native product, brand and creative, DI/analytics–to continuously test and optimize a user experience designed for subscription growth.
This role is supported by two specialists: A campaign/conversion optimization specialist; and an ASO/user acquisition specialist.
Essential duties and scope
- Builds strong working relationships with teams across the organization and key stakeholders to help facilitate awareness and support of growth strategies and initiatives for the mobile app. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work up, down and across organizational levels.
- Testing and optimization, data-driven marketing decision-making. Ability to confidently illustrate why decisions should be made with data and competitive backing.
- Manages data and MMP vendor partners to help identify customer and business problems and align goals. Is deeply knowledgeable app analytics requirements process and experience using data to make decisions.
- Strong strategic, creative thinking and decision-making skills.
- Maintains constant awareness of technological enhancements, competitive landscape, and industry trends within the native mobile app business to help identify necessary updates and new opportunities. Up-to-date knowledge of Google Play and App Store guidelines and app trends.
- The app product champion with all internal partners pitching ideas and innovation to improve, enhance the product and consumer experience.
- Shown ability to learn new tools and quickly train others.
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of Digital Product Marketing/Product Lifecycle experience, focused on eCommerce or digital capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or strategic communications. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Efficient in MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with Google Analytics, Data Studio

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $45,000 and $105,800. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
