The Recruitment and Employment Specialist provides functional support in administering the recruitment and selection of administrative and professional faculty (A/P Faculty) positions. In compliance with applicable federal and state laws, provide guidance and support in all stages of the recruitment and selection process. Advise hiring managers and search committee members on policies and procedures related to the recruitment and selection of these employment types. Work with hiring managers in developing recruitment strategies. Serve as the point of contact for candidates regarding inquiries related to the search process and a liaison for departments utilizing search firms. Partner with the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity in facilitating the employment of individuals on restricted appointments. Assist with special projects and initiatives. Process faculty personnel transactions into the appropriate systems such as Banner.
Required Qualifications:
Working knowledge of employment and EEO practices and principles, including federal and state laws and regulations. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply human resources principles, practices and procedures. Demonstrated ability to brainstorm and propose new ideas and solutions. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and reach logical and supportable conclusions. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees at levels throughout the organization. Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Several years of related recruitment experience. Several years of experience with using human resource information systems and on-line applicant tracking systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Considerable years of recruitment experience within a human resources office. Some experience developing and executing recruitment strategies/plans. Some experience onboarding new employees. Considerable human resources experience with a state agency in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Previous experience recruiting and employing faculty and/or staff in an institution of higher education. Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field.
Experience using Banner, Cardinal, and/or PeopleAdmin software. PHR, SHRM-CP or recruitment related certification.

Salary:
Salary range between $45,000 - $55,000
