Dental Assistant (DA)
Overview
Ray Dental Group is seeking to add a full time dental assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the dental office. You will work as a supporting member of a multi doctor practice using state-of-the-art equipment. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to patient care, and proficiency in various dental procedures. Our dental assistants pride themselves on their excellent skill set and we are excited to add a like minded individual to our team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to established aseptic techniques.
- Document patient medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately in Dentrix.
- Utilize dental terminology effectively when communicating with patients and staff regarding procedures and treatments.
- Assist in the management of patient flow within the office, ensuring timely appointments and minimal wait times.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment options available.
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is preferred for scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
- Current dental radiology License
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices relevant to dentistry.
- Experience with dental coding is a plus for accurate billing processes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and other team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of dental assisting is highly valued.
