Assistant Professor in Art and Design
Buffalo State, State University of New York, seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in Art and Design.
The successful candidate will join a comprehensive NASAD-accredited art and design department. We are the only urban state college in western New York and are proud of our ability to empower students from a wide range of underrepresented ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds to begin their roles in society as authors of culture. We seek a faculty member that represents the potential we see in our students and who will serve as a role model for students as well as faculty. The ideal candidate will show a commitment to diverse and inclusive perspectives in teaching and scholarship and have a socially oriented creative practice. Service to students, department, and college are critical responsibilities of this position. We are looking for a colleague that will play an integral role in resisting academic silos while developing multidisciplinary opportunities for students and the campus community.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must hold an MFA or equivalent terminal degree in Graphic Design or its related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include at least one year of teaching experience at the college level, significant experience in a graphic design-related industry, and evidence of leadership and innovation in their chosen discipline.
