Job Summary
The Patient Services Coordinator will work at the front desk in the majority of clinics. This position acts as a contact for patients, visitors, vendors, and the community at large accessing services of the College of Dentistry via telephone contact, face-to-face encounters, and daily appointments. Welcomes all patients/family members/others to clinic in a friendly manner. This position is responsible for the check in registration of patients. Duties include: obtaining demographics, verification of coverage and annual documentation of forms as required as well as scheduling of appointments. The successful candidate will maximize patients' financial coverage through proper registration and verification of benefits. Collect co-pays and amounts due at time of service. Answer basic insurance coverage questions. Process and maintain registration information in the electronic health record. Screens and directs incoming calls. As part of the front office staff this position will also process referrals and provide excellent customer service.
This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ( CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.

Attention to detail, accuracy, computer literacy, 90% accuracy on skills assessment, 95%accuracy on audit, customer service focused, teamwork, effective written & verbal communication, proficiency with sequential numbers, empathy, judgement, problem solving, organizational knowledge, sensitivity to patient privacy.

Candidates with medical/dental office experience preferred.
