Job Description
The Solutions and Analytics Team within Missouri Online delivers scalable, high-performing analytic dashboards, reports, and insights to stakeholders across the four campus UM System. We are seeking an analytics engineer to help clean, curate and refine data from a variety of higher education sources. The ideal candidate will work closely with data analysts to ascertain the data elements, formats and structure needed for analysis.

Produce curated/refined data sets suitable for analysis. This process will involve cleaning, filtering, aggregating, and transforming raw data using SQL and/or Python.
SQL Expertise: Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and transform data from various databases and sources. GCP BigQuery knowledge is a plus, but not required.
Data Validation: Utilize data validation processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data discrepancies and anomalies.
Documentation: Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation of SQL queries, data lineage, data validation processes, and data analysis methodologies.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry best practices, tools, and emerging technologies related to data management. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.

Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM CST
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 4+ years work experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent SQL skills
Passion for creating high-quality datasets suitable for analysis
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Experience working in Higher Education and/or working with Higher Education datasets
Python (or similar) experience
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g PowerBI)
Knowledge of data controls and applicable regulatory/legal requirements (HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, FTC, PCI, etc.) in protecting confidential and/or sensitive data.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000 per year
Grade: GGS-011
