Position Summary
The Department of Gerontology at Virginia Commonwealth University is recruiting for a pool of persons for possible part-time adjunct teaching positions. This pool will be utilized on an as-needed basis. Your application will be active for one year. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Position Responsibilities
- Meeting all designated course instruction guidelines
- Plan course content based on specific knowledge and expertise in gerontology and areas including Narrative Gerontology, Theater and Improv Techniques, Person-Centered Dementia Care Techniques, Intersectionality and Aging
- Design and develop course content, syllabus, learning objectives and assignments, as well as facilitating course discussion and student engagement activities
- Master's degree in gerontology required
- Additional requirements include subject matter expertise in either Narrative Gerontology, Theater and Improv Techniques, Person-Centered Dementia Care Techniques, Intersectionality and Aging
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
- Membership in Gerontology professional organizations
